Planning them together does not mean forcing every system into one software screen. It means designing clear interfaces, shared infrastructure, operating responses, and accountability before separate contractors create permanent gaps.
1. Begin with the site response
A building has normal, busy, after-hours, emergency, fault, and maintenance states. For each state, decide what people should see, hear, control, and do. Technology should make that next action clear.
For example, a life-safety event may require detection, verification, notification, door behavior, operator guidance, and recording. A vehicle alert may require identification, barrier control, camera views, guard communication, and an audit trail.

4. Give operators fewer, better decisions

Design the control-room workflow with the people who will run it. Include routine monitoring, alarms, faults, maintenance isolation, evidence export, escalation, shift handover, and reporting.
